Our Mission

The mission of NCLA is "to support the development of independent community-based literacy programs and advocate for members' initiatives". Every North Carolinian should possess the knowledge and skills necessary to compete successfully in a global economy.

Community-based programs are able to provide the flexibility and confidentiality needed to meet their client's goals.

Adults are able to improve their employment status, parenting abilities, and their self-confidence.

According to NIFL, the more education a parent has, the higher a child's reading proficiency becomes. (www.nifl.gov)

Increasing literacy services is an urgent need in North Carolina! Call and find out how NCLA can help.
